Jerusalem, June 15 – A Sri Lankan woman residing in Bat Yam, near Tel Aviv, Israel, sustained minor injuries during the overnight missile attacks launched by Iran, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has confirmed.
The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m., when the woman was injured by falling glass that struck her right hand. Her condition is reported as stable and not serious, according to Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, who has been in direct contact with the affected individual.
In a separate incident, another Sri Lankan woman working in a household south of Tel Aviv was evacuated with her host family after a strong tremor shook their residence around 3:30 a.m.
The attacks, which included Iranian ballistic missiles, targeted Tel Aviv, Haifa, and surrounding areas, setting multiple buildings on fire. Three people were confirmed dead and many others injured as a result of the strikes.
The Sri Lankan Embassy has assured that it is closely monitoring the situation and operating round-the-clock to ensure the safety of all Sri Lankan nationals in Israel.
Sri Lankans currently in Israel who are affected or at risk have been urged to contact the Embassy immediately for assistance.
