The Sri Lanka Police has announced a series of immediate transfers involving several senior officers, as approved by the National Police Commission (NPC).
According to the Police Media Division, the following officers have been reassigned to new positions:
- Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) C. Gunaratne
Transferred from the position of Director of the Police Cadet Division to Director of the Sri Lanka Police College. He will concurrently continue his duties as Director of the Police Cadet Division. - Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) B.A.E. Prasanna
Transferred from Officer-in-Charge of the Mount Lavinia Division to Officer-in-Charge of the Kebithigollewa Division. - Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) A.J. Gunasekara
Transferred from Director of the Bureau for the Investigation of Abuse of Children and Women to Officer-in-Charge of the Mount Lavinia Division. - Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) H.W.I.S. Muthumala (Female)
Transferred from Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to Director of the Bureau for the Investigation of Abuse of Children and Women. - Superintendent of Police (SP) G.V.A.K.C. Ariyawansa
Transferred from Director of the Gampola Division to Director of the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB).
The Police Media Division stated that these changes aim to enhance operational efficiency and maintain public security across various divisions of the Police Department.
