Colombo, June 18 – A specialist neurosurgeon attached to the Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital and two other individuals have been remanded until June 24, following their arrest by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The trio was arrested on June 17 over allegations of selling medicines at inflated prices through a third party, Ada Derana reported.
The suspects were presented before Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawela. CIABOC officials informed the court that investigations were still ongoing and requested the court to remand the suspects.
The Magistrate accepted the request and ordered that the three individuals be remanded until June 24 as inquiries continue.
