Another generator at the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Plant has been successfully reconnected to the national grid, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) announced.
With two generators now operational, an additional 600 MW of power is being supplied to the grid. The CEB also confirmed that efforts are underway to restore another inactive generator in the future.
CEB media spokesperson Dhammika Wimalaratne stated that the board currently has sufficient capacity to meet local electricity demand. He also assured that measures are in place to maintain the security of the national grid, especially during periods of reduced demand.
