Over 10,000 Dengue Breeding Sites Detected in First Two Days of National Eradication Week

The Ministry of Health has announced that 10,591 potential mosquito breeding sites were identified during inspections conducted over the first two days of the National Dengue Prevention Week.

According to Dr. Prashila Samaraweera, Community Health Specialist at the National Dengue Control Unit, health officials inspected a total of 48,354 premises during this period.

The third day of the campaign is currently in progress, as public health authorities continue efforts to control the rising number of dengue cases amid the ongoing monsoon season.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and actively remove stagnant water sources that can serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
