President Announces Exposition of Sacred Tooth Relic After New Year

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced plans to hold an Exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic following the Sinhala and Tamil New Year this year.

During his visit to Kandy, the President stated that the Chief Prelates of the Asgiri and Malwathu Chapters have extended their support for the sacred event.

Addressing concerns about national security, he reassured the public that there is no threat, despite the emergence of conflicts among organized criminal groups. He clarified that these groups do not pose a risk to public safety.

The President acknowledged that criminal networks have grown into a destructive force over time and affirmed that active measures are being taken to dismantle them. He expressed confidence in eliminating such groups, highlighting that in the past, they had operated under political protection.

This announcement reflects the government’s commitment to upholding religious traditions while ensuring national security and law enforcement.
