Rise in Dengue and Chikungunya Cases, Warns Deputy Health Minister

Deputy Health Minister Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni has raised concerns about the steady increase in dengue and chikungunya cases across Sri Lanka, warning that both diseases are becoming a growing public health issue.

He urged anyone suffering from fever to seek medical attention immediately to prevent complications and aid early detection.

Addressing another concern, Dr. Wijemuni clarified reports about medicine shortages. While it was previously stated that 180 types of medicines were unavailable, he confirmed that only about 45 are currently in short supply within the hospital system.
